Grandparents and Parents alike know it takes kids to carry on the family name, but how do we deal with the little "gifts for grandparents" of the 21st Century?

How do we communicate with children that seem to be born smarter than most adults today? Is the answer in a course on Practical parenting using self taught parenting skills introduced by the baby boomers of the 20th Century? Or maybe it is secretly hidden in a positive parenting program or another online parenting plan. Should we buy them more children's computer games, and become more mindful of child safety products?

Games, for instance, are a special invention designed to grab the mind of the one playing them and consume every thought to a point of no awareness of surroundings.

The Parents today have been in competition with everything from the first TV remote games to the new I-phones and, no doubt, at times, would like to throw them all out the window. That is why raising the little "Gifts for Grandparents" today can be frustrating; trying to talk over the sound of the mp3 players and the noise of the computer games, but talk you must.

Choose your times to talk wisely! Practical Parenting parents know they are no competition for the games of today. Go for a walk in the park, woods, or back yard; don't forget to leave the games in the house, and talk, talk, talk!
